12 Healthy Snack Ideas

Sometimes it is difficult to eat three, well-balanced meals a day. A busy lifestyle and stress can make fast food more tempting and a solution for a quick and easy meal.

To help you to stay healthy try these snack ideas suggested by Doctor Murad:

1. Carrots and Celery

Try them in sticks – as many as desired.

2. Popcorn

2 cups air-popped popcorn + 1 medium apple

3. Apple

1 medium apple cut into slices + 6 raw almonds

4. Goji Berries

2 tablespoons dried goji berries or raisins + 4 walnuts

5. Raw Vegetables

1 cup of raw vegetables of choices + 2 Scandinavian-type whole grain rye crackers

6. Antioxidant Smoothie

1 veggie antioxidant juice smoothie + 2 to 5 whole grain crackers

7. Grapes

1 cup red or purple grapes + 1 hard boiled egg

8. Almonds

6 raw almonds + 1 cup raw vegetables with optional salad dressing for dip

9. Bell Pepper

1 raw bell pepper sliced and dipped in hummus (2 tablespoons of hummus)

10. Orange

1 medium orange + 4 walnuts

11. Tomato Juice

1 cup tomato juice cocktail with a squeeze of lemon or lime juice + celery or carrot sticks
